1. What is TimeTec BLE Key Fob?
TimeTec BLE Key Fob is a 4-button remote control, designed to communicate and operate with TimeTec BLE-2 and BLE-16. Users can utilize the device to unlock the barrier gates, access doors or even select the destination floor inside a lift car (require pre-configuration) via TimeTec BLE-2 and BLE-16 secure/power saving Bluetooth Low Energy Connectivity. This setup is especially useful for individuals without a smartphone, i.e. kids or the elderly. Plus, the device also serves as a backup tool for when your smartphone is running out of battery power.
2. What is the type of battery used in TimeTec BLE Key Fob? How long can it last?
TimeTec BLE Key Fob is powered by a CR2032 button cell, which can last up to almost 3 years of usage.
3. Is TimeTec Key Fob water resistant?
Unfortunately, no. Hence, please make sure that you do not drop the device into water and keep it dry on a daily basis.
4. How to configure TimeTec BLE Key Fob for integration with barrier gate, doors (installed with TimeTec BLE-2) and lift (installed with TimeTec BLE-16)?
Each TimeTec Key Fob comes with a unique serial number, and the system owner must first enroll this unique serial number into TimeTec BLE-2 and BLE-16 (owned by same system owner under same account). This can be done via i-Neighbour Mobile App or i-TimeTec Mobile App. Note that system owner can delete the TimeTec Key Fob serial number from TimeTec BLE-2 and BLE-16 when it is no longer in use. Likewise, the system owner must use the mobile app to configure unique command as well as synchronise it into the TimeTec Key Fob buttons via Bluetooth connectivity. Once done, TimeTec Key Fob will then emit a unique command to either TimeTec BLE-2 or BLE-16 depending on which button is pressed. For example, Button 1 to open barrier gate and so on.
5. How secure is TimeTec BLE Key Fob?
Bluetooth connectivity has better protection than radio frequency, i.e. the transceive and receive ends must first pair up before any data transfer can occur happen between the 2 ends. The second level of security occurs when TimeTec BLE Key Fob is transmitting command to either TimeTec BLE-2 or BLE-16, whereby the command consists of a unique serial number. Both TimeTec BLE-2 and BLE-16 must first recognise the serial number before they perform any action. This helps to avoid TimeTec BLE-2 and BLE-16 from responding to any unauthorised TimeTec Key Fob. In case users lose their TimeTec Key Fob, the system owner on the other hand can use the mobile app to delete the serial number from TimeTec BLE-2 or BLE-16, thereby deactivating the TimeTec BLE Key Fob.
6. How to restrict individuals from using TimeTec BLE Key Fob to access via barrier gates, doors and lift floors during certain time periods?
Unfortunately, there is no restriction on the time or day that can be applied onto the device. Therefore, please ensure that you only assign the device to authorized individuals. In case you want to stop TimeTec Key Fob access, you can do so by erasing its serial number from TimeTec BLE-2 and BLE-16.
7. How many TimeTec Key Fob can operate with one TimeTec BLE-2 or BLE-16?
Each TimeTec BLE-2 or BLE-16 can store up to 1000 TimeTec BLE Key Fob serial numbers. Hence, you can assign up to a maximum of 1000 key fobs.
8. My door is installed with TimeTec BLE-2 and FingerTec i-Kadex. There are 2 groups of user, group 1 is using mobile app while group 2 is using card with i-Kadex. Can I assign another group user for TimeTec Key Fob?
Yes. TimeTec BLE-2 comes with storage of up to 1000 cards. This amount is shared by both RFID card (i-Kadex usage) and TimeTec BLE Key Fob. There is no limit for mobile app users.
